FCAL2 Module-0 Tooling

Up Home

Below are photographs of the vibrating slug feeder used to handle the approximately 200,000 W slugs making up module-0. Slugs are placed in the bottom of the bowl and quite rapidly inch their way upwards around the inner diameter of the bowl. Once at the top, they are fed into a tubular chute which guides them into a flexible hose. A trigger at the end of the hose allows the operator to control the supply of slugs to the module in the correct orientation.
